2015 Art Summary

As opposed to last year  2015 was a pretty rough year for me.

I spent the first three months dealing with chuckle-fuck community college art teachers, which put a damper on my enthusiasm for drawing for a while. My Graphic Design 1 teacher wouldn't teach us how to use photoshop or any other program, instead she'd spend the lecture time talking about her clients or her children or would dick around in Adobe programs over the projector saying "you can do *this* cool thing" but when you would ask her something specific like "How do I crop the canvas?" she's say "I haven't taught that yet, don't worry about it".

My Digital Illustration teacher was fresh out of grad school so he had an air of avant-garde about him and he turned the class into a faux photography class, making a ~$300 minimum digital camera a requirement and made us put more focus into the originality of our images than digital painting, or "illustrating digitally". When he told me digital painting was something I would have to learn myself I became very depressed because after doing some research I found out every other art school taught digital painting in their digital illustration class. That was a fun way to rack up a 3.5K student loan debt to learn absolutely nothing. 

I sorta faffed around for a bit, nothing real exciting happened for a few months until august-September when I received confirmation for my first time vending a pony convention. So in November I made one of my best pony drawings so far, and it even earned massive praise from Tabitha St Germain at Ponyville Ciderfest. She would not stop gushing about how much she loved the picture! She even signed a copy that went on to raise over $400 in the charity auction!

I even got my first set of comissions in november-december!

I'm not longer suffering from the anxiety/inspiration issues I was dealing with last year. No matter what happens, the praise I got from Tabitha and everypony at Ponyville Ciderfest has created a baseline of sorts. So I won't fall below my own level anymore. 

Now I just need top focus on getting better at drawing. I need to perfect my grasp on anatomy and digital painting and maybe I can become the next Assasin Monkey of Tsitra360. Who knows?
